    Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower, encourage and educate children and young adults, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential, by providing funding for scholarships, supporting community outreach and partnering with other organizations that provide similar services.

    Vision Statement

Our vision is to provide young people the platform to achieve and the ability to realize their potential for greatness through mentoring and leadership programs.

    About Us

The Walter Latham Foundation was founded by Walter Latham Jr. in May 2007. Mr. Latham started the Foundation to meet the great needs of youth in Guilford and Martin Counties. He was constantly receiving requests from civic organizations, schools, youth programs and students in need of financial and organizational support. He knew that as an individual, his resources were limited but if he banded with others, he could provide scholarships, mentoring programs and financial assistance to more young people.

As a part of our mentoring program, “The Legacy”, volunteers chaperon middle school students to the 2009 Universoul Circus.

The Walter Latham Foundation supports the community, by taking well deserved students to a Greensboro Grasshopper’s baseball game.
